Why This Program Matters
Every executive environment is different.
The expectations of the leader you support, the culture of the organisation, the stakeholders you work with, and the complexity of the role all influence what strategic executive support looks like in practice.
Strategic executive support isn't defined by job title or organisational level. It's reflected in your ability to step back from the immediate task, understand the broader context, anticipate what matters most, and support better decisions, stronger alignment, and more effective organisational outcomes.
Some professionals arrive at this stage after years of executive support experience. Others transition into executive support from business, operations, project management, events, or other professional disciplines and suddenly find themselves operating in a high-trust leadership environment.
Regardless of how you arrive, the challenge is often the same: developing the perspective, frameworks, and practical approaches needed to contribute confidently and strategically within your own executive environment.
Building Strategic Executive Support was created to help professionals strengthen executive partnership, support better decision-making, build stronger organisational alignment, and make more intentional strategic contributions within the unique context of their role.
About this Program:
Building Strategic Executive Support (BSES) is a private, coach-led development experience for professionals supporting senior leaders.
Because participants apply the program directly to their role, workplace, and executive environment, no two BSES experiences are exactly the same.
Unlike traditional training programs that follow a fixed curriculum, BSES combines personalized coaching, guided learning, workplace application, and structured reflection to create a development pathway tailored to the participant's role, executive environment, organizational context, and professional goals.
The workplace becomes part of the learning experience.

Your Questions, Answered
-
It combines elements of both. Participants work through a structured development framework supported by coaching, guided learning, reflection, and workplace application. The program provides both the structure of a professional development pathway and the personalization of individual coaching.
-
Every participant receives a Personalized Strategic Executive Support Framework tailored to their role, executive environment, development priorities, and organizational context. Coaching discussions, application activities, and feedback are individualized throughout the program.
-
Building Strategic Executive Support is designed for professionals who are ready to actively engage in their development.
The program goes beyond content and coaching conversations. Participants are asked to reflect on their professional practice, apply learning within their workplace, seek feedback from colleagues and stakeholders, and engage in activities designed to strengthen self-awareness, executive partnership, and professional effectiveness.
For this reason, participants should be comfortable discussing their development goals within their organization and ideally have the support of their executive, manager, or organization while undertaking the program.
The greatest outcomes are achieved when participants can openly apply what they are learning, gather feedback, and use the workplace as an active part of the development process.
If you are looking for a self-paced learning experience, one of our Foundations or Advanced Capability programs may be a better fit.
-
Yes—provided you already have professional experience operating within a business environment.
While many participants are experienced Executive Assistants or Executive Partners, BSES is also suitable for professionals who have transitioned into executive support from other disciplines such as operations, project management, events, communications, administration, or leadership roles.
These participants often bring strong business knowledge and professional experience but need a framework to help them adapt to the pace, expectations, stakeholder dynamics, and decision-making environment that comes with supporting senior leaders.
Because BSES is a personalized development experience, participants focus on the capabilities most relevant to their role, responsibilities, and professional goals.
This program is designed for experienced professionals who can draw on existing business, organizational, or leadership experience and apply the program directly to their current role.

The Power EA is a self-managed learning experience supported by community learning opportunities. It provides a structured pathway for developing professional capability across a range of executive support competencies.
Building Strategic Executive Support is a private, coach-led development experience.
Rather than following the same pathway as every participant, BSES is tailored to the individual's role, executive environment, strengths, challenges, and development goals. Participants receive personalized coaching, feedback, workplace application activities, and a customized development framework designed to support their growth in a high-trust executive environment.
While many participants are experienced Executive Assistants, executive support experience is not a requirement. BSES is also suitable for experienced professionals who have transitioned into executive support, executive partnership, or senior business support roles and are seeking a structured framework to help them succeed in a complex leadership environment.
If you are looking for structured capability development, The Power EA is typically the best starting point.
If you are seeking individualized guidance, accountability, and a personalized development pathway tailored to your role and circumstances, Building Strategic Executive Support may be the better fit.

The recommended program duration is eight weeks, as this provides the best balance of learning, reflection, coaching, and workplace application.
We recognize that professional priorities and executive demands can occasionally affect progress. Reasonable adjustments can be made when needed; however, participants are expected to actively engage with the program and maintain momentum throughout the development experience.
Because coaching sessions, feedback, and personalized support are scheduled around each participant's learning journey, BSES is not designed to be paused indefinitely or extended over many months.
If circumstances arise that may affect your participation, we encourage you to discuss them early so an appropriate plan can be agreed.
