Finalist for the 2022 Premier's NSW Export Awards!

A message from our Founder, Trish Butera

I am excited to have been recognised as a finalist in the NSW Women in International Business category of the 2022 Premier's NSW Export Awards! This is a huge honour, and I am thrilled to be recognised among such stellar finalists.

My recognition is the result of the online learning platform I created in 2020 - The Global Assistant Online. Since its launch, The Global Assistant has been making waves across international borders, with students from over 40 countries all leveraging the platform to gain the career-critical global skills required to succeed in the changing workplace.

What are The Premier's NSW Export Awards?

This award is overseen by the Export Council of Australia (ECA) and is an initiative specifically for businesses in the State of New South Wales (NSW). The Premier's NSW Export Awards are the state's most prestigious awards program that recognises the achievements of NSW exporters. The awards showcase the outstanding success of our state's businesses and their commitment to international trade. I am honoured to be a part of this year's awards and look forward to celebrating the success of all the finalists.

My Journey with The Global Assistant

I started The Global Assistant in 2020 as the pandemic began to forever change the way of business and training events. I've been overwhelmed by the response to The Global Assistant. As an e-learning platform for executive support professionals, it has always mattered that we can provide opportunities and skills acquisition in this ever-changing business landscape – but never did I imagine how far things would take us! So many people from around the world have reached out asking about our services or simply saying "thank you", as the programs they've enrolled in have significantly impacted their careers. It makes all those late nights worth every minute. For me, it's always been about helping you achieve everything you deserve in a rewarding career and more.

The focus on marketing the platform internationally has been an amazing journey so far, and I have loved every minute of it. I am excited to see what the future holds for The Global Assistant and honoured to be recognised for our international success.

What this recognition means for the industry.

As with any award, they represent a chance to leverage the power of your voice by giving it focus and direction. As a finalist, I am thrilled that ECA have recognised a business focusing on the administrative support industry. It helps put the profession front and centre and it is vital for me to ensure that the profession has high visibility and value in today's business landscape.

I like to think of executive support professionals as 'business generalists' who have a deep and broad insight into the workings of any business. The good news is that the focus on skills-based talent development highlights the professionals who are most likely to readily adapt and grow their skills. As organisations undergo transformation and dynamics continue to change, there’s more scope for the development of business support teams. The new skills-based talent development approach will help organisations better understand what they need from their business generalists— you! - and give you access points into specific areas where you can excel!

On October 12th, whether selected as the winner of the prestigious award or not, you know I'll continue to do what I've always done - champion and support the industry and professionals through this phase of transition and beyond.

I am so proud of what The Global Assistant Online has accomplished, and I am honoured to be recognised with this nomination as a finalist in this award category. It is definitely a career highlight!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey; I couldn't have done it without you!

Trish x
