The Global Assistant gets behind International Women's Day 2021

The Global Assistant Online is proud to support International Women’s Day 2021 which falls on March 8.

“This year’s IWD theme #ChooseToChallenge is close to the heart of administrative professionals,” said Patricia Butera, Founder of the online learning platform. “The executive support role is predominantly held by females and the challenge many of these professionals face is negative, often outdated stereotypes. The Global Assistant Online’s message is one of empowerment; empowering and mentoring highly skilled professionals to be the best at what they do and challenge perceptions.”

The Global Assistant will help to amplify IWD’s 2021 campaign to the broad administrative industry through its global networks and partners. Leading up to March 8, virtual events will be hosted around the #ChooseToChallenge theme. Global Assistants are invited to Take the Pledge and #ChooseToChallenge gender stereotypes, gender bias and discrimination.

WHAT WE’RE DOING TO SUPPORT IWD

Every month, The Global Assistant hosts virtual networking sessions, bringing assistants together from all over the world to share their stories and learn from each other’s experiences. These forums are anchored around topics that resonate universally among executive support professionals.

For International Women’s Day, The Global Assistant will lead discussion forums around the themes of empowerment and what it means to #ChooseToChallenge the stereotypes that exist in the administrative industry.

For the month of March, we’re offering global assistants the opportunity to learn about Unconscious Bias and Stereotyping through complimentary workshops available at The Global Assistant Online.

WHAT YOU CAN DO - TAKE THE PLEDGE

Take the pledge to challenge gender stereotypes, gender bias and discrimination.

We can play an important role in affecting change. We’ve set up a simple but fun way to broaden the #ChooseToChallenge theme while raising awareness of the influence admin professionals have on business. We’re running a social media campaign featuring image cards with the #ChooseToChallenge hashtag along with images of assistants worldwide who take the pledge.
